For your consideration is a handsome electric HOFNER COMMITTEE GUITAR circa 1959, Serial Number 3172. It has: - Carved solid spruce body top, with birdseye maple back and sides. - Marbled binding, with multiple black/white purfling to body. - The Lower Bout Width is 17.5". - Plain clear perspex scratchplate. - Black plastic, single coil pickups. - Five piece flamed maple/mahogany laminated neck. - Marbled binding to neck. - All ebony fingerboard. - Eight fret markers on fingerboard. - Large "frondose" headstock with HOFNER name . - Machine heads are single units, with solid brass barrels with ornate floral plastic buttons. - Rectangular control panel with 2 rotary control switches (master volume for each pickup) and 3 side switches (bass, treble and rhythm/solo). - Equiped with Bigsby. - Adjustable metal bridge resting on 1/8” thick fabric/material. This HOFNER is in good condition with the following considerations: - The headstock has some sting “burns” as can be seen in the photos. - The “G” string plastic tuning button is lacking approximately 1/4” of its length. - The scratchboard needs some attention where it attaches to the neck. - The control panel cover is cracked in two places. I am including a new old stock, white cover that could be utilized. - The floret inlay is missing from the 7th fret. Plays read more
