Here is a handsome vintage sterling silver brooch in the form of a sword which is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1944 with the sponsers initials A.H.D & S. There is a Celtic knot design at the base of the handle which is reminiscent of Scottish jewellery from this period. The brooch is in very good order apart from a small loss of enamel on the handle which can be clearly seen in the 2nd image and which could easily be restored. The sword measures 3.25 inches long and the weight of the brooch is an impressive 7 grams. The reverse bears the hallmark and initials as can be seen in the 3rd image. A wonderful and highly desirable addition to any vintage jewellery collection.
