Brand New In The Box -Hangar 9's NEW F4U Corsair .60 ARF Retials for $299.95 Description / Specs: The famous “bent wing bird” the F4U Corsair was an outstanding fighterduring World War 2 having at the time one of the largest enginesavailable, the Pratt Whitney R-2800. The bent wing was necessitated by the tall landing gear which was in turn, necessitated by the huge propeller required to propel the plane at the desired high speed, The Corsair F4U I variant, entered service in 1943 and was armed with six fifty calibre machine guns and had a speed of 425 mph. With a production run of over 12 years the Corsair remained in service with many nations until the 1960's, and later versions flew their last combat missions in the 1969 “soccer war” between Honduras and El-Salvador. Of the 12,571 Corsairs produced, t are thought to be around 28 still airworthy today.Hangar 9's Corsair is reproduced in a generic U.S Navy colour scheme and is probably the best looking semi-scale Corsair A.R.F available.
