Harbour Lights Award Winning Collectible Lighthouses 1998 Special Event Exclusive Roosevelt Island, New York HL612 in MINT condition with original packaging!

You are bidding on the retired Roosevelt Island, New York Lighthouse (code HL612). The production was limited to an edition of 7884 in total. It measures 5" tall and is meticulously crafted to the Harbour Lights standard. This was a 1998 Special Event Exclusive and was announced on January 1, 1998 and was retired on December 31, 1998.

This piece has been signed by Bill Younger.

They have not been displayed and was only removed from their original packaging to photograph for this auction.

On the northern end of Roosevelt Island stands the Lighthouse, built in 1872 and designed by James Renwick, Jr., the famed Irish architect who also designed St. Patrick's Cathedral. Built by island convicts in 1872, the now decommissioned lighthouse is 50-ft-tall and is constructed of native gray granite.

The 2.8 acre site provides panoramic views of Manhattan's Upper East Side, including Gracie Mansion (the Mayor's historic residence), and the Triborough Bridge. South of the lighthouse is an expansive lawn surrounded by large trees, shrubbery and picnic areas.
