I am thinning out my collection and parting with duplicates and parts. Please read the entire listing carefully and inspect photos.. I will be happy to answer any questions received in a timely manner. Up for auction is this hard to find American Flyer #1116 green lithographed winged engine sand car. It was made about 1918-20 with high Marklin type trucks. Attractive colors, lithographed in green, white, black and yellow with the then new, winged engine herald on both sides. All original and complete. There is a red version, one of which I just sold on Ebay.. Both are high in demand and heavily sought after amongst AF early litho collectors. They just don't show up on Ebay. This example's condition is as follows: One side is VG (C6) with a few nicks, but bright and shiny. Other side has two scrapes right over the "Sand Car" lettering and is C5+(G+) with play wear, but shiny. Both ends are C4 to C5 (F to G) with vertical scratching as if someone wanted to inscribe additional ladders or grabrails. Frame, wheels, and trucks are a nice shiny EX (C7) except for a bit of flaking above the coupler ends, which is usually the case. No oxi or rust. This car, despite the drawback of an unkind previous owner who was scratch happy, still looks pretty nice. Came with the automobile car and caboose I will be listing next. It has n o reserve read more
