The name of this kind of Native American Indian Arrowhead is a Hardin Spear Point. This is an exquisite arrowhead in every possible way. The condition is close to perfect. T is a small chip on each shoulder tip but looks like this happened when the blade was being resharpened, so it isn't new damage and the integrity of the piece is maintained. The fine point of the tip is also chipped a small amount, also old damage which you can see because of the layer of dirt deeply embedded in the cavity. Both sides are beveled from resharpening and have the most beautiful serrations. The base is fantail subtype. This is honestly one of the nicest authentic artifacts I have seen. I've traveled around a bit and seen so many museums yet this piece really stands out to me. These kinds of arrowheads were used by Native American Indian tribes thousands of years ago in what we call the Early Archaic Period, 7000b.c. being the estimated date of origination. Measurements of this arrowhead put it at just about 3 3/4" of an inch. It was found in the Midwest part of the U.S.and was of course found on private lands w permission of the owner was obtained in full. We have kept it nicely in our collection since then, well preserved and truly enjoyed. Its authenticity is guaranteed. This is not a repro, it is the real thing. Good morning!
