This auction is for a china rolling pin made by the well-known Harker company in the hard-to-find pattern, "Countryside." Before I continue with the description, I want to say up front that the rolling pin has a thin hairline crack which you will see in our last two photos. We used two photos to show the same crack from different angles. The hairline, if straight, would measure about 4inches long. The rolling pin is 15 inches long from end to end of both handles. The rolling pin can be displayed without the hairline showing. Two of our photos show a small brown spot in the green trim on the handle which has the cork. However, that brown spot was simply a piece of residue and has since been cleaned from the handle. On the positive side, the colors of the rolling pin are still bright and the pattern is absolutely charming - showing a quaint cottage, smoke ascending from two chimneys, and surrounded by colorful vegetation. Our photos show the three colored areas on the rolling pin. Also, as said in the title, the cork in the one handle is new as t was no cork in this piece when I purchased it. I am not sure how difficult it is to find a rolling pin in the Countryside pattern, but I know this is only the second I have seen in my 30 years of collecting. If you don't have one, this is a great opportunity to add one to your rolling pin or Countryside collection until you find a perfect example.
