This ultra rare collectible pewter sculpture was originally crafted in 1995 as a limited edition of only 1025 units. Harley-Davidson franchise dealers would attend a Corporate sponsored school each year in order to develop sales and business skills in order to help better serve the customer. At the conclusion of these classes, the MoCo would then issue the participants some sort of commemorative item for their attendance. The 1995 University commemorative (Harley-Davidson part #99929-96HU / limited to 1025 pieces), titled "Continually Moving Toward the Future" is one of the finest and most detailed of the University pieces. It was cast in fine pewter by artist John A. Balistreri. This first University pewter issue has a cowboy sitting aside his trusty steed as well as a man (who coincidentally could pass for the cowboy's twin brother) in racing leathers standing in the foreground along side his own mount, a 1200 cc sportster. Some years, commemorative items offered were extremely detailed and ornate w as in other years, the gift items tended to be smaller and bit less elaborate. A diorama / sculpture made of wood, cast resin material and pewter was the first large item offered in 1994. Large pewter sculptures were offered in 1995, 1996 and 2000. These were cast in multiple pieces and attached to the wood and pewter base with screws that were cast into the uprights. Some of these sculptures have been damaged when sent through the mail despite the superior packaging by Harley-Davidson. As a note, when I ship, I will disassemble the sculpture and package carefully in order that this does not happen to you. The 1994 University commemorative, (Harley-Davidson part #99498-94V / limited to 875 pieces) was simply titled "Harley Davidson University" and was the first large sculpture / diorama that was presented to the graduates. It is a shadowbox with a wooden frame and base. It depicts the front of a brick building (presumably the Harley-Davidson University) as one of the dealers / students is exiting. He is walking down the steps and approaching a vintage motorcycle. A pewter plaque over the door reads Harley Davidson University. It measures 10" W X 7" H X 5 1/2" D. ==================== The 1996 University commemorative (Harley-Davidson part #99928-96HU / limited to 1025 pieces), titled "Encouraging Intellectual Curiosity and Continuous Improvements" is another of the fine pewter sculpture provided by the University. It was also cast in fine pewter by artist John A. Balistreri. This sculpture depicts a speaker at a podium with a large blackboard draped with the US and HD University flags behind him with three statements on it: #1 Love the Product #2 Manage the Business #3 Lead the People ==================== The 2000 University commemorative / limited to 2000 pieces) titled "...
