The "PohlPhone" resonator harmonica was manufactured in Klingenthal, Germany in the late 19th century by Peter Pohl. Hohner Company bought Pohl out in 1908 and continued on with their own versions of this early harmonica. It is a rare instrument. A similar PohlPhone has been on display in the National Music Museum. The piece is in good solid condition, both for appearance and sound. No dents in the metal frame. The front horn is perfectly round with one small break in the 1/16" outer band fold. See the picture. T are traces of brownish oxidation on the metal portion of the mouthpiece and back cap which can also be seen in the pictures. This looks to be fairly light and might be removed with instrument polish. However, I prefer to leave that potential improvement as the buyers choice. The dimensions are 5.5 inches long and 2 inches across the front horn end. This is a family heirloom. My late uncle purchased two PohlPhones sometime during his travels as a trombone player in a World War I military band. I have previously sold the other PohlPhone. Due to it's unique nature this is a No Return auction. I will respond to all queries and provide additional close-up photographs as requested. International buyers Paypal only. You are also responsible for any special tariffs or other import charges after the item leaves my possession in the U.S. All shipments will be via USPS Priority International Mail with appropriate insurance . The buyer is responsible for processing claims for loss or damage in transit. I will assist with shipping details, etc from the sellers end. Keep all packaging materials to help prove your claim.
