MAJOR'S MOUSERS TJCA4 RETIRED , EARLY PIECE, RARE Made in England Artist: Peter Calvesbert Five mature cats (mousers) form a distinguished circle, with three younger, lounging kitties making up the lid. The lighter color, mature cat resembles former prime minister of England , John Major. Like many early pieces t are no interior carvings, only the HBC logo. The measurements are 2.87 x 2.83 x 3.07". This box has a heart stamped on its lid marking it made in 1997. This piece was released in May 1995 and was retired in June of 1997, one month before John Major retired. The following is from the Harmony Kingdom website: These five senior citizen cats were originally conceived as a Harmony Ball chiming sp holder with optional kitten lid. Spot the likeness of former Prime Minister John Major. Even the mouse, located between the heads of two cats, looks as if he should move into The House of Lords. Some of the early moulds had the inscription "Drop Claws 4" under the striped kitten, a reference to a legal clause opposed by the Labour Party (most of this inscription shows on this piece).
