Recently discovered in a Southern California estate is this splendid oil painting of a beautiful ballerina by American artist Harold Stephenson (aka Abruzzi).Work measures 18 x 36 inches. Framed as shown, measures: 24 x 42 inches. Medium: oil on masonite board. Signed lower left. Date of creation: circa 1959. Condition: excellent condition. Please see photos. In his late teens, he studied in New York City at the Art Students League and National Academy of Design, and continued in Paris at Académie des Beaux Arts. During World War Two he was a combat artist for the U.S. Army and after discharge, settled in Hollywood where he worked for the movie studios and taught at his Benedict Canyon studio.
