Fifty-two books (50 plus "Lectures" and "Reading Guide". In good to very good condition. These are clean, maybe a little dust from being shelved all these years. The spines are straight. These books are much more collectible than the other 1959 sets that had covers all in red. The Jewel Edition has 5 different colors - 10 books at a time are colored in red, blue, green, purple and burgundy jewel colors. These colors give the books a wonderful decorator look - they are stunning on bookshelves. The following description is adapted from Wikipedia: Originally known as Dr. Eliot's Five Foot Shelf, the Harvard Classics is an anthology of classic works from world literature, compiled and edited by Harvard University president Charles W. Eliot and first published in 1909. Each of the 52 volumes measures 8-3/16" x 5-3/4" - numbered pages. Overall it is real close to 6 feet of shelf run, 72-1/4" actually and over 60 lbs of books, so we will ship them in a few boxes (probably 3). No markings, from a private collection. I will pack and ship your items off promptly after payment clears. Please contact me with any additional questions prior to bidding. This item is non-refundable.
