Meningiomas: TheirClassification, Regional Behaviour, Life History, and Surgical End Results .By Harvey Cushing & Louise Eisenhardt. Springfield : Charles C. Thomas 1938. First edition. Only 1765 copies printed. Garrison & Morton 4612. Twenty five years in the making, and published one year before his death in 1939, Meningiomas was Harvey Cushing’s last and most important monograph. This copy has the ownership signature of Orville T. Bailey (1909-1998), one of the founders of the subspecialty of neuropathology. The text is clean and free of markings. The binding is lightly bumped on the upper fore-corners, has minor fraying at the spine tips, some edge rubbing and a few light scuff marks. The spine lettering is moderately dulled, but quite legible. Near the base of the spine there is a light patch of glue residue from a removed label (see photo); there are no other markings to indicate it was ever a library copy.
