Hatfield custom handmade skinning knife S30V Stainless SteelOverall length is 8 1/2", thickness is 5/32, blade length is 4". Heat treated to a hardness of 60RC. Deep hollow ground blade with a convex ground cutting edge that is hair shaving razor sharp. The blade has a very fine 800 grit satin finish.The handle scales are exhibition grade burl lace redwood that has been stabilized by WSSI to prevent shrinking, warping and increases the hardness of the wood scales. The scales have a black micarta bolster with yellow & black spacers. The scales have "Patrick" custom mosaic pins and a mosaic lanyard hole tube with lanyard.I have had several past bidders that have requested a skinning knife and this is my model #1 skinning knife. This knife is great for field skinning of small to large game due to it's blade configuration and is the model I carry for my own personal use in the field. The knife will include a handmade tooled 8-9 ounce leather sheath.I hand make all my knives in my shop located in Northern CA. and I do not farm out any of the knife making operations. I even do my own in house heat treating to insure proper hardness on my knives. Each blade is tested for hardness with a Ames hardness tester to insure that it received proper heat treating.
