The Parkes Medal was awarded to Havelock Charles Br. GCVO. LLd. MD in 1882 (details on the rim and very clear) Later Sir Havelock Charles he became sergeant surgeon to King George V from 1910. This is a rare genuine antique. The Medalists are the famous JS & AB Wyon who had produced the Victoria Portrait for the first stamps. A substantial Medal it measures 50 mm and Weighs 68.5 g It is almost mint, with just minor wear to the highest point of the Portrait.
