Dainty - Colorful - Wonderful. Perfect adjectives to describe this lovely Baltimore Rose Demitasse Cup and Saucer by Haviland & Company. Cataloged as Schleiger 1151A, the rose design is set on Schleiger Blank 8, with gold trim 652. The six-rose spray surrounds the exterior of the cup, with a two-rose repeat to the right of the handle. A partial rose design is on the interior to the cup. The roses are in shades of pink, touched with yellow and white. Gray foliage shadows the design. The soft green buds, leaves, and stems are lined in a deep pink. The gold work rims the lip of the cup and lines and splashes over the handle. The petite saucer mimics both the partial design and the colors on the cup. Made c.1898, the cup is approximately 2-1/4" high and is approximately 2-1/4" in diameter at the lip. The saucer is approximately 4-1/4" in diameter. The gorgeous translucent porcelain is in wonderful condition without crazing, cracks, or chips.
