Towards the end of the 18th century Kaolin a material required to produce porcelain china, was discovered around Limoges in France. This started the history of Limoges porcelain. Since then masterpieces were created and passed along generations worldwide. Creativity was enhanced to make tableware articles and boxes that today are highly prized and collected. This is a beautiful set of sugar and creamer produced by Haviland & Co. Each piece is marked with two stamps. T is Haviland France in green and Haviland & Co Limoges in red orange. The pieces have a mark that was used from 1894 - 1931. This is one of the beautiful antique Haviland Limoges patterns which features pink and blue white roses with green stems and leaves. This beautifully hand decorated set has an outstanding scalloped edge and heavy gold trim on the rim over the embossed pattern. The sugar and creamer are in excellent condition. The sugar is 5" long, 3 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" tall. The bowl is hand decorated inside and outside. The creamer is 4" tall with a 2 1/4" base. The ornate embossed handle is gold gilded.
