DESCRIPTION: For auction is a large Haviland, Limoges salesman sample fish platter on the Diana blank. The platter is marked with the green underglazed H&Co/L and a red, arched Haviland & Co. decorator mark. There is also red script that indicates the pattern number (2772) and additional mold and pricing information. The platter is decorated in a red/orange and yellow multifloral pattern of roses, honeysuckle, and wild flowers with a small butterfly (the pattern was possibly designed by Dammouse or Pallandré). The tray is decorated with a warm salmon pink background that fades to cream with gold accenting on the elaborate molded edge and framing the center. The porcelain is thin and translucent and rings beautifully. CONDITION: This elegant platter is unfortunately only in fair condition. The handles have both been broken off or otherwise removed and the ends smoothed down. There are also a couple of chips around the edge of the tray (please examine the photos carefully). The gold is in good condition, showing some wear. SIZE: The platter measures 21 5/8 inches long and 8 3/8 inches across. SHIPPING AND PAYMENT: All items will be shipped insured but I do not use delivery confirmation unless requested. The insurance will be included in the handling fee so if you use a postal calculation based on what you think it might weigh, then read more
