Note: Shipping for this item is limited to USA only. A Haviland platter in the clover leaf pattern with gold trim, this piece is in excellent condition. Made in Limoges, France, by Haviland on the Ranson blank. The rim is scalloped and the handles are molded in relief with a wheat wreath. This piece appears in the booklet "The Ranson Blank - an identification Guide", published by the Haviland Collectors International Education Foundation, on page 17. The platter is described as 13 5/8" x 9 1/8", but ours measures about 1/16th of an inch smaller than that in each direction (it is not uncommon for pieces to be a little different than the books state, because the mold sizes would change slightly with repeated use). "Haviland France" is marked on the bottom in green; it also bears the "Haviland Limoges" red decorating mark on the bottom in addition to the name of the store w it was purchased: "W. J. Alexander, Troy, NY". Limoges china was usually sold in the best department stores and jewelry stores.CONDITION: We could find no cracks, no chips, no hairlines, no crazing.
