Aloha! This "treasure for you" comes from my smoke free home. Up for your consideration from my late husband's collection of Hawaii tokens is this transportation token from the island of Maui which reads: KAHULUI RAILROAD CO . This nickel round token is 23mm and is in EF+ condition and is 2TT-9 in the Medcalf/Russell catalog of "Hawaiian Money - Second Edition" . REVERSE: GOOD FOR ONE FARE 2TT-9 -- 23 mm diameter Kahului Railroad first and last of the Hawaiian railroads was located on Maui, servicing the north and central area. Primarily used for hauling sugar, it carried passengers after opening in 1879, first on a casual basis, and regularly by 1884 After the Sevond World War, buses took over passenger service, but the railroad continued through 1966. I am not a coin dealer. I am downsizing my life; with two sons finished with college, and educational loans in abundance, it is time to sell. All coins, medals and military related items listed through me were part of my late husband's collection. While I am not a coin collector, I did learn much about his coins while he was alive and now its time to find other homes for them. I strive to be as diligent as possible about the identification, age and condition of each coin that I list based on an inventory he left me...he used to joke that I would learn even more about coin collecting after he passed away...boy was he right!
