This auction is for a HAWAIIAN DINNER MENU WITH THE FRONT AND BACK OPENING TO MAKE A BEAUTIFUL HAWAIIAN PAINTING by Artist Eugene Savage ABOARD CRUISE SHIP S.S. LURLINE , JANUARY 18, 1954 Eugene Savage had an international reputation as a muralist and a sculptor. The Hawaiian menu covers used on this cruise were given the Certificate of Excellence, the highest possible award, at the 1950 Printing for Commerce Exhibit of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. A different painting was featured on the menus each day of the cruise. This listing is for only one menu This menu, and the four others being offered in separate listings were brought to our antique mall by one of our dealers who purchased the menus at an antique auction. The menus were apparently saved --probably for the beautiful Hawaiian art-- by someone who had a wonderful Hawaiian five day cruise aboard the S.S. Lurline back in 1954. The picture is described on the inside of the menu. The menu has been well kept. We will combine shipping with our other menus listed.
