This auction is for a set of two Hawaiian Sunrise Shells ( Pecten langfordi ) from the island of Oahu. The shells measure 21.3 & 21.7 mm (see coin in photo for size reference). Matched set of two sunrise shells. Bright orange & pink. Small size knobby shells, perfect for earrings. Note that this is not a natural pair; in the wild sunrise shells have one red half and one yellow half. To get a matched set like this, I have to find two unrelated shells that happen to be the same size & color. Since sunrise shells are so unique and different from each other, finding two similar shells can be difficult and takes a lot of patience. The finish on the shell is natural, as depicted in the photos. I never use oil or any other coatings on my shells. Collection info will be provided with the shells. All shells were hand collected under license in an ethical manner with no damage to the marine environment. I'm happy to combine shipments, so if you win some of my other items please let me know and I'll give you a better shipping rate. Postage inside Hawaii may be slightly cheaper, depending on size & weight of the package. Registered mail is recommended for overseas shipments. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
