"small kine" 5ft mini surf HAWAIIAN wall decor Aloha HOWZIT... tanks for looking!!!!!!Ten years ago while living on Maui's north shore in the little town of Paia... one of my surfin buddies was making "small kine" decorative surfboards and I thought they were cool so I decided to start makin my own. Now hundreds of board later I still enjoy the art of makin decorative surfboards. This board is made of pine and hand-crafted "one at a time" Board specs: Measures 5ft tall by 15" wide. I included a picture of a 4' board for perspective. 12" makes a big difference in the overall size of the board. Width is crucial for surf design... too narrow and it should be called a "waterski". This board is painted with techniques I have learned from my metal art. This board has a "show car" paint job. Automotive paint and clear-coat were used in producing this vintage style board. Mounting- I think the board looks "mo betta" if it "floats" off the wall ...just a little. I use 2 pieces of aluminum angle for the "float" which gets the board off the wall about 3/4". The wire hanger is attached to the aluminum bracket for secure hanging. Holes are drilled in the rear bracket for sideways hanging.
