offered for auction is this very rare UK EMIDISC 45. Two different tracks with the A-Side being 'The Hawk aka Jerry Lee Lewis IN THE MOOD which was never issued in the UK as a record, The B-Side being 'The Fendermen MULESKINNER BLUES i've listened very carefully to this tune and i believe the version on this EMIDISC Is SLOWER than the release version, (i'm no expert and i could be wrong so i'm listing it as a possible different version). After his disastrous tour of the UK in 1958 and the revelations about his marriage to his 13 year old cousin, Jerry Lee's career was at a low ebb. Jerry Lee Lewis recorded these instrumentals under the pseudonym “The Hawk” for Sam Philips Sun subsidiary label “Philips International” This 45 was not released by London/Decca in the UK but a small number were pressed by London in Canada.
