One that has superb balance and comes alive in your hand? Then this Raymond Richard Scagel Bowie Early American Fighter knife from the Hawk'n (Hawken) Knives Off Beat Forge may be for you. Raymond Richard is a highly respected, award winning bladesmith from Gresham, Oregon. He is well known among knife buffs as the moderator of the Off Beat Forge forum on the Knife Dogs knife site. Ray forged the blade for this Early American style knife from a horse drawn buggy leaf spring made circa 1860 . He happened upon it in an open air flea market in Montana in 2007. So the knife blade steel is actually about 150 years old. In a sense, you get a piece of history with this knife. It is in mint condition with no flaws. Replacement cost: $1,100 . Killer price.
