Up for Auction is a Spectacular Estate Find . We are Starting this Extremely Low with NO RESERVE, so high bidder takes it. It was found packed away in an attic with other very high end items. We asked a colleauge about this piece as we have heard of Hawkes many times, but are not too familiar with t pieces. The colleague believed this to be a very high end item with age -- he believed it to be Stueben and called the acid etched mark Fleur - de - lis mark or trefoil (want to note as we state all honestly he was not completely sure on the mark and is by no means an expert -- we are certain collectors will know from pic's and description, as well as approx. age). Any Questions please ask -- pic's came out pretty well so hopefully will be able to get a good look. This is a Top of the Line Hawkes Decanter. The Bottom is Acid Etched HAWKES with symbol and the Top and Rim are Marked Hawkes Sterling and STERLING is marked two other times as well. (see pic's and rest of description Below). The Piece Has Beautiful Etching Towards the Top of Glass (pic's do more justice than words), and towards Bottom of Glass it is smooth and round , but has triangular type design which must be done from inside (really adds to piece -- not sure what you call that style). This is one Solid/Heavy Piece. The Glass on bottom is Acid Etched with a symbol which I guess I can best describe as looking almost like a Three Leaf Clover with some type of Plant (Possibly Wheat) and on both sides looks like some types of Birds Facing towards it one on each side). Hope that description helps, but sure pic's will help more. On side of Piece that lifts off it reads HAWKES STERLING (not sure of the style of writing but much more elegant than block letters). The Rim is marked STERLING in block letters as well as the End Cap (see pic's). Height as measured from Surface to To Highest point is approx. 11.75". At its widest (hadle to other side) is approx. 7". Diameter with top off is approx. 3" and diamter of base of glass is approx. 3.5". Piece Weighs 3 Pounds. EXCELLANT CONDITION. Those who know our Auctions know we try to note everything and include pic's of all angles. Few minor flaws to note of which we were told are all very easy fixes if wanted to, but we leave that for those in the know. OF MOST IMPORTANCE NO FLAWS FOUND IN GLASS (NO CHIPS, NIC'S, CRACKS, ETC. The Sterling top contains three dimples/indents (one on the spout, one on one side of top, and another on other side which is extremely minor and was hard to get to show up in pic -- specific pic's have been included of each one). The only other thing to note is the end cap is not exact circle when looked at upside down (sure could bend right back with finger, but we do not risk touching anything -- especially on a piece of this caliper. Anything else we might have missed would be extremely minor.WOULD BE EXTREMELY HARD PRESSED TO FIND ANOTHER PIECE OF THIS QAULITY IN THIS CONDITION.As this is sold as is please ask any questions, and more pic's is never a problem. SEE OUR FEEDBACK AND BID WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE.EXTREMELY LOW START PRICE ON THIS & NO RESERVE, so winning bid takes it. We accept Paypal, Money Order's, Cashier's Checks, and Personal checks. Shipping and handling will be $15.00 to the lower 48 states (no expense spared in packing -- please see our feedback), otherwise buyer pays actual shipping (we ship worldwide). Insurance is optional -- to be paid and decided by buyer at auction end. Thank you for taking the time to view our auction.
