WHAT A LOVELY ANTIQUE CADDY SPOON! IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And Georgian too. Here we have a quite exceptional and quite lovely solid silver caddy spoon of tremendous gauge and weight.Hallmarks are deep and clear. It is assayed in London and dated 1821.Year letter f and it has a makers' mark for good spoon makers Thomas & George Hayter-refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 78. This is a lovely early George IV lot and a must have. A really delightful heavy piece! The length is small at 3.625 inches. This lovely spoon is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of tea silver. Pattern is very pleasing with fluted decoration to the bowl. Weight of actual silver is a very good 24 grams,this piece is made of thick gauge silver throughout.This is very heavy for a caddy spoon of this age. The condition is very good indeed and the bowl of perfect shape with a thick unworn rim and tip.It is engraved w and always has been,definitely no erasures either.
