While they are primarily known as the creators of such iconic heroes as Captain America, Thor, The Fantastic Four and Avengers, Joe Simon and Jack Kirby were originally celebrated as innovators in the pre-Comics Code crime and underworld genre. Their gritty and realistic depiction of thieves, murderers, their women and other denizens of the night laid the groundwork for modern titles such as Sin City, with it's graphic violence and characters hell-bent on fulfilling the darkest of human desires. Titles such as Headline Comics, Justice Traps and Guilty and Police Trap still influence writers and artist of today with the notion that perhaps crime does pay, even though you get gunned down in the end. For sale with this offering is a VG 4.0 copy of Headline Comics #33. It is bagged and boarded and will be shipped promptly in protective packaging.
