Offensive Material American Indian Humor "Heap Big Laugh" Stated First Edition 1955 Signed by the Author Dan M. Madrano Caddo Indian ILLUSTRATED BY Roland Whitehorse, Kiowa Indian *************************** ***Note *** The author and illustrator may have since regretted this book, it was published back in 1955 **** Very Scarce book, with error- One who section of pages is repeated and printed and bound into the book TWICE-pages 167 through 182 appears TWICE- Autographed with inscription by the AUTHOR *** Vintage Hardcover book, w/ DJ, DJ shows wear, actual book in Excellent condition, minor wear, binding tight, pages clean and intact **************************** This is a piece of history that can be learned from, in my opinion. Both the Author and Illustrator are "Native Americans" or "American Indians" ******************** The humor in this book, along with the illustrations perpetuate very NEGATIVE stereotypes of a whole group of people. T are numerous references to drinking and being drunk in the text and illustrations, Broken english is used for the dialog of the "Indian" throughout, etc. What is worse, I think, is that it is being done by members of their own race, the Author and Illustrator ***************** Excellent Historical example, & Collectable Shipping in the USA $5.00 Shipping Worldwide
