Roughly 2" x 2", genuine Connemara Marble by Gerard. This is a Heart shaped carving about 3/4" thick, as well.This Green Connemara Marble is seen [for sale] less and less. The Green Marble is simply either running out, or being held for higher prices than the rest of the Connemara Marble [or both!]. Actually, the area in the Connemara called the 12 Bens [Mountains] of County Galway is w this marble is mined in not large, vast region, so a depletion is inevitable. I've seen the 12 Bens, and [believe me] it is not a very large area. One theory, maybe fact, is this dinky region of unique color is an 'import'. About 900 Million years ago, this marble was formed off the coast of Argentina, on an island possibly.
