Designed for use by sailors, aviators and campers, ( according to the included manual), this radio with it's swivel antenna and compass dials lets users pinpoint their location by triangulating using the antenna's "null points" to locate radio stations. It contains a six-transistor superhet radio, specialized meter for detecting signal strength and sensitivity controls. This auction also includes the original manual and all the foldouts. The radio measures about 7-1/2" X 6" X 4-1/2". it appears to have been built by a competent hobbyist. N OTE: Recently an auction for the manual only closed on eBay for nearly $30.00, so bid carefully on this valuable and radio and booklet combination! Condition This is in excellent condition with only minor paint wear, and a tiny crack on the top of the meter. (See photos). It was designed to work on 206-style 9-volt batteries which are no longer made. The old connectors have been replaced with a contemporary snap connector so you can use it with today's batteries. The old connectors will be sent with the radio. The radio plays, but might benefit from re-capping, something you can decide to do in the future, or leave the set in it's original "factory" condition.
