AMAZING - c1850 VICTORIAN 12K ROLLED GOLD ORNATE LINK NECK CHAIN-45gm I am so pleased to offer this is AMAZING Victorian 12K Rolled Gold neck chain that is SO ORNATE and HEAVY ... simply one of a kind...and it measures an amazing 23 1/2" LONG......you will NOT be disappointed ! It has the most ORNATE ETRUSCAN MOTIFE LINKS that i have had the pleasure to come across .. .......complete with fob clasp.....just gorgeous! I have sold many of these.. but not with these Fabulous style of hand carved links ..two distinct alternating designs ..similar to a Bookchain necklace.. Please take time to look at all the photos to see these incredible links.. This is an Early Victorian piece but may also be Georgian .... HISTORY It is Circa 1850 by design and styling...and it came from a British estate. These heavy rolled gold neck chains are becoming VERY RARE in this UNIQUE style and weight... so dont miss this one! It has its original fob to use as the locking clasp for this necklace and the long unique shaped links are SOLID NOT HOLLOW.. and would look fabulous with a locket suspended from it or simply PERFECT on its own...and this really makes a statement ! DESCRIPTION and SIZING It is not hallmarked for gold content but the outer surface tests positive for 12 karat gold and it was sold to me as rolled gold. Antique Rolled Gold is considered to be equivalent in quality to todays low karat gold. This one is of a lovely quality, and I have one of these and these look great for everyday wear with any outfit ... ....I wear mine constantly.....as it has a hand crafted links , and you can simply attach a locket WITHOUT removing the chain.. as in a Bookchain necklace.... .so very versatile..!! It is a fabulous antique gold color, .that rich buttery hue unlike the brassy gold of today and will compliment both rose gold and yellow gold jewelry. The links are AMAZING ..the long links are four sided and each side is identical as it turns.. these links have a carved central spindle design ...so INTRICATE.and the connecting links are solid and are Belcher Links.... .. ..... if you look at the larger pictures , , you can see these and they really look stunning..very eyecatching. T has been an extender added at some time on either side of the necklace in keeping with the period and is carved rolled gold belcher links.. a beautiful finish to this piece. It is in FABULOUS antique condition . It sparkles beautifully, and catches the light with every turn, .....and this WILL get noticed and admired ! The long barrel links measure 1 1/2" in length by 1/4" in width and the connector Belcher links each measure 1/4" in .. and the overall 23 1/2" length , and it looks fabulous on the neckline and is a lovely length for a large locket..so very flattering ...but HONESTLY THIS LOOKS FABULOUS WORN ON ITS OWN... The fob is very secure with tension and spring in the fob. It also has a pull back O clasp as a secondary opening.. I have not cleaned the chain.. and it will look even more beautiful with a clean, and will leave this to the new owner. It really is exquisite , and will one day become a lovely family heirloom piece to hand down to future generations. It weighs approx 45 grams which further adds to its appeal ! I will be watching this auction with interest as this is one of the most UNIQUE and AMAZING heavy neck chains i have had the pleasure to sell..and have NEVER seen another quite like it .! The photos do not depict its beauty of the antique gold color, and they appear brassy, ...and it is much much nicer in person. ....Please check my feedback so you may feel confident bidding with me..
