AMAZING***HEAVY-c1850 VICTORIAN 12K ROLLED ROSE GOLD SLIDER NECK CHAIN-42gm I am so THRILLED to offer this AMAZING Victorian 12K Rolled Rose Gold neck chain that is a SLIDER with thick DOUBLE CHAINS ...and all the links and chains are SOLID NOT HOLLOW ...you will NOT be disappointed ! It has the most beautiful ORNATE & LARGE ETRUSCAN MOTIFE END LINKS & SLIDER that i have had the pleasure to come across .. and is 16" in length.......complete with fob clasp.....just gorgeous! I have sold many of these.. and have recently sold one with this Fabulous style of the triple chains but this one has a beautiful end links and slider .. which is VERY RARE indeed ! .... The SLIDER measures 5/8" LONH and is a quarter of an inch deep ...and the triple chains combine to be 3/8" in width ! Please take time to look at all the photos to see these beautiful piece.. As always the photos were taken outdoors to give a true indication of its condition but the photos are a bit dull due to overcast conditions...any dark shadows appearing on the piece are reflection only ..and it has not been polished for many years and is just so SHINY ! This is an Early Victorian piece but may also be Georgian .... HISTORY It is Circa 1850 by design and styling...and it came from a British estate. These heavy rolled rose gold neck chains are becoming VERY RARE in this UNIQUE style and weight... so dont miss this one! .. I will also be listing a double link slider bracelet from the same estate in the next few days that matches this beautifully ! It has the original fob to use as the locking clasp for this necklace .. and the SLIDER has finely carved floral motifes and Etruscan carvings as do the matching end links...and this really makes a statement ! DESCRIPTION and SIZING It is not hallmarked for gold content but the outer surface tests positive for 12 karat gold and it was sold to me as rolled gold. I believe the slider and end caps are either 12k rose gold shell or quite likely SOLID karat gold.. which was often the case with these chains. Antique Rolled Gold is considered to be equivalent in quality to todays low karat gold. This one is of a lovely quality, and I have one of these and these look great for everyday wear with any outfit ... ....I wear mine constantly.....and being solid they will withstand a good deal of normal wear and tear unlike hollow link necklaces. It is a fabulous antique soft rose gold color, .that rich buttery hue with a hint of rose gold and will compliment both rose gold and yellow gold jewelry. The links are AMAZING ..the slider is scalloped and has a carved Etruscan designs on the front and the back is a mirror image of the front.. ..t are two chains in a thick curblink and they are SOLID NOT HOLLOW and they are held by Etruscan end pieces carved with Etruscan Carvings and the necklace has a fob closure. T has been an extender added at some time on either side of the necklace and one is curb link chain whilst the other is the same double link chain .. a beautiful finish to this piece. It sparkles beautifully, and catches the light with every turn, .....and this WILL get noticed and admired ! This measures in 16" length and the double chains measure just over 3/8" in width and sit beautifully on the neckline.. a nice length ..so very flattering ... The fob is very secure with tension and spring in the fob. I have not cleaned the chain.. and it will look even more beautiful with a clean, and will leave this to the new owner. It really is exquisite , and will one day become a lovely family heirloom piece to hand down to future generations. It weighs approx 42 grams which further adds to its appeal ! I will be watching this auction with interest as this is truly one of the most beautiful heavy neck chains i have had the pleasure to sell...! The only fault I can see is that the back of the slider has wear to the pattern which is consistent with its vast age..and as it is at the back is not visible when being worn, nor does it detract from its beauty in...
