Vintage Mexican Matl-Style Heavy Ornate MultiStone Elaborate Sterling and Gemstone Necklace Another wonderful piece from a friend's collection she is parting with. Unique heavy sterling ornate necklace with pendants in the style of Matl. See photos of markings on back of piece. This piece was purchased at a well known Antique store in Pasadena, CA circa late 80's, early 90's. A substantial piece with amazingly detailed craftsmanship. The center square medallion has five elongated dangling pendants, all with inset turquoise ``````````````````````````````````````````````` The medallion measures: apx 2" wide by 1 3/4" top to bottom at center Length: 19" apx from top closure all around necklace to top end. Diamond shape elongated pieces: 1 3/4" long Attached to the centerpiece are 4 diamond shaped pieces set with turquoise and coral bezels. In addition, 12 heavy "S" shaped pieces hold this beautiful necklace all together. Heavy rectangular locking closure with "Mexico" and several sets of numbers below, including 925, the mark for sterling. Weighs on my scale: 73 grams !!
