WELCOME! I am pleased to offer this limited edition porcelain collectors plate from the Russian Fairy Tales series produced by Heinrich Porzellan of West Germany and imported by Villeroy & Boch. This beautiful 6 3/8" Snow Maiden plate, Snegurochko at the Court of Tsar Berendei, is #2 in a series of 12. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity and series pamphlet in it's original box. Each plate in this series was faithfully reproduced from the original circa 1916 paintings of Boris Zvorykin. Zvorykin was a master of the old Russian art of ornamental illustration, influenced by Russian icon painting in the gouache technique. Up to 28 colors were used on each plate, with edge decoration in gold. Production of this edition was limited to 21 firing days. The plates in this series are nearly identical to the larger plates offered around 1980 with the most notable exception being the border at the plate's edge. CONDITION... This plate appears to have never been displayed, and is without faults. A label has been removed from top corner of the boxes surface. All of the items I offer for auction are previously owned and are most often offered in "as found" condition. Nearly everything I sell will show age appropriate wear consistent with normal use. Any and all faults or imperfections are noted to the best of my ability. BEFORE PLACING
