This is a set of vintage 1940s-1950s Heisey Glass Orchid etch, 6 CHAMPAGNE GLASSES. They have an elegant, ornate stem. They have the resonant ding of crystal and an extensive etch that covers much of the bowl. These would be perfect for a celebration or would make a wonderful, unique gift. This is an estate sale find, and is part of a larger set of this pattern. MEASUREMENTS: 6 1/8" tall. CONDITION: These are in good condition with no chips, no nicks, no cracks. We note that the rims have some differences. Some appear to have a flattened look, and while polished and smooth, it leads us to question whether this is a manufacturing difference or whether these were ground down to remove fleabites at some point. If they were ground, it was well done and with a smooth edge. However, because we're uncertain, to be fair to buyers, the starting bid of this set is discounted. ABOUT THIS PATTERN: Heisey Orchid was introduced in the 1940s and quickly became one of the most popular patterns for brides. The etching is an elegant presentation of orchid flowers alternating with bows within a framework of vines and small flowers. The design is attributed to Ned Newman. (Thanks for the Heisey Museum collector's site for information on this pattern.) Thank you for looking. Please feel free to ask questions. We are always happy to oblige. SHIPPING read more
