****** Please disregard the shipping fee, I put 1 dollar so that is doesn't say free. ******* Hekman is a high end manufacturer of wood products still in business today. /Category/ProductListing.aspx?CategoryID=361 The age of the desk appears to be from either the 1950's or 1960's with distinct modern/deco feel to it. The most unique features are the beautiful roll top desk top, the octagonal shaped legs, and the bronze accents. Roll top (tambour) is solid piece of burled wood which swivels up into top revealing storage compartment. Leather writing surface, bronze metal stretchers between legs and two bronze handles on roll top. The drawers are high quality wood-on-wood side glides. The interior of the roll top space is lined in a plastic like material with interesting mottled patter that makes it look like antique silk or velvet. t are some slight colored paint marks in one of the rolltop compartments. The build quality is very sturdy, and the wood veneer around the desk is in excellent shape. Desk is darker wood than appears in some pics. I am posting this item for my mother in law and you can feel free to call her if you have any questions regarding the desk , or to arrange a viewing. If you win the item but are outside of the area we can hold on to the item, but for no longer than thirty (30) days. However payment must be made promptly. Dimensions: 54"wide; 28"deep; writing surface 29" high. top shelf is 6 5/8 deep; writing surface 15" deep; storage area 9 1/8" deep; height of back shelf 33";
