Helen Greene Blumenschein (1909-1989) "A Taos Indian Fireplace at the Pueblo" Woodblock Print Helen Blumenschein was a painter, printmaker, illustrator, and an amatuer archeologist. Best known for her prints, she received acclaim and invitations for exhibition both nationally and internationally. This image (page 32) was used in the book "Sounds and Sights of Taos Valley" in which she did the text and illustrations. She also reproduced the image by woodblock print in brown ink on cream paper. This print being auctioned on eBay is a fine art woodblock print, not an illustration cut from the book (book illustration is black ink and done via standard offset press). The print is in excellent condition, and has never been mounted or framed. Provenance is from the Helen Greene Blumenschein estate. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a wonderful woodblock print of Old Taos, New Mexico.
