Teacup Measures 3 1/8" in diameter (4" with handle) x 2.25" tall Saucer is Oblong and Measures 4.75" x 5.25" x 1.25" in depth c.1843 - 1883 Among several wonderful teacups/saucers I currently have listed, is this stately set from Helena Wolfsohn, owner/founder of the Helena Wolfsohn Porcelain Studios, beginning operation in the mid 19th century. Wolfsohn's company's early pieces, such as this, are recognized for quality hand-painting and hand-gilding in the Watteau style. Both cup & saucer are quatrefoil in shape, have alternating paneled scenes of seascapes and floral sprays on dark pink/raspberry in Watteau style, and are outlined with elegantly detailed gold gilt. No cracks, chips, hairlines, crazing, or staining. Condition of gold gilt is very good but does show some minor (normal) wear on edges commensurate with age.
