Welcome. Up for auction, what I believe, is an IOOF ritual outfit. A guard, since that's what is written on the inside. Really a neat piece. Comes w/ black velvet pants, and long shirt, I suppose. Shirt first, long sleeve, shiny soft material. Color, a greenish, yellowish. Has the Henderson Ames tag inside. Wonderful embroidery and detail to it. One metal piece is missing from top shoulder, but overall, I'd say it's in great shape. It's old, I don't know how old. I checked Henderson Ames, and company history, so I'd say early 1900's when they were making fraternal wear. Black accents feel like felt, it's on the cuffs as well as the bottom all the way around. Measurements: (all in inches) underarm to cuff:17.25 underarm to underarm: 25 back of neck to bottom: 40.5 Ok, the pants.Black heavy velvet w/ stir-ups. Overall style. Top of pants is a tan cotton. Overall straps are worn, and t is handwriting of the name of the man who owed these all over the place on the inside. Yellow accent down leg seems to be yellow w/ jewels sewn on.
