This is a beautiful hand painted Henriot QUIMPER 7"H x 9 3/8"W x 1 1/2"D Faience OVAL VEGETABLE BOWL. It is signed on the bottom: "Henriot Quimper FRANCE for R.H.Stearns Co. 459". R.H.Stearns Co. was a very fine Department Store in Boston Department Store from 1847 to 1977. A handsome Breton Man in traditional dress is in the center with a tall floral garland on each side of him. The background is a bright YELLOW glaze with a blue border outlining the edge. A shiny glaze is on the whole OVAL VEGETABLE BOWL. The colors are bright and vibrant. T are no chips, cracks, holes, crazing, or repairs. It has a beautiful bell tone when struck. T is one small pale blue glaze smear at the top right side. The bottom is not glazed and is bare ceramic. The mark on the back indicates it was made between 1922 and 1968. This Henriot Quimper OVAL VEGETABLE BOWL would be lovely to use as a serving piece or to put on display among your other pieces of beautiful Quimper.
