.44 rimfire caliber, serial number 4792, 24" barrel Henry's Patent October 16, 1860/Manufactured by the Winchester Arms Co. New Haven, Conn. Walnut buttstock. Rear sight leaf marked 900 at top. Complete with sling swivel on left cheek of buttstock.Condition: Barrel housing very sharp and crisp finish has turned to a pleasant plumb brown. All markings are sharp and crisp and legible. Brass frame and buttplate have a beautiful untouched mustard look. Buttstock was cracked through the wrist behind rear tang screw and has been professionally restored. Other than restoration, the stock has most of its original oil finish with nice open grain showing. Overall a great example of a great late first model Henry with rounded buttplate. All screws and rear barrel sights are original to the gun. Lacking cleaning rod in butt.
