Henry Wessel, Jr. Photograph titled, "Walapai, Arizona, c. 1971 Gelatin-silver print. 22.75" wide x 18.75 high framed. It is signed, titled dated in pencil on verso. I do not know the year this print was done. The photograph was part of the Levi Strauss & Co. Art Collection and was bought at a charity auction approximately 8 years ago. I have the paperwork from the Levis Strauss & Co. on their letterhead along with the appraised value. The photograph was beautifully framed at the Fraenkel Gallery in San Francisco. The first photo was one I pulled from the internet so you could get a very clear view of the image. There photo, matt and frame are in perfect condition. Henry Wessel, Jr. (born 1942 in Teaneck, New Jersey [1 ]) is an American photographer noted for his descriptive, yet poetic photographs of the human environment. Wessel earned a B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1966 and an M.F.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1972. Before graduating with his M.F.A., in 1971, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded Wessel a fellowship and, one year later, the Museum of Modern Art exhibited his photographs.
