You are bidding on a set of Hensoldt 7X56 Nacht-Dialyt binoculars made in Wetzlar Germany. These binoculars measure 9" in length. The leather covering is all intact except one section has a crack in the leather and one very minute little piece is missing. Painted areas show some corrosion. This set of binoculars is center focus with eye diopeter (sp) adjustment. Original leather strap on binoculars. To my eyes the glass is clean and clear (maybe slight dust). These binoculars are approximately 60 years old. On the latch of the case t is the original price tag. On the tag it reads 7X56 8-46(which i presume they were stocked the eighth month of 1946). Then a pricing code and the original price of $368.00. Case is all black, very heavy leather, well made. I have collected Hensoldt binoculars for years and have had many different pairs. Some had German military markings and were exactly like this set. Most of the markings were inside the case not on the binoculars. These could have possibly been military binoculars but I think they were sold as civilian. This is the last pair I own and kept this particular set because they were center focus and had clearer glass than any of the other ones and very easy to use.
