Candlestands were first introduced in the William and Mary Period (England 1680 -1710 & America 1690 -1730) They Served an obvious purpose and quickly became the elegant expression of design. Their presence was known through height and space, the candlestand has a quiet presence in the room.

The rise of the cabriole leg decides the difference between modesty and excellence. The higher the lift, the better the presentation. This piece has a modest well formed presentation and posture is all when it comes to candlestands.

The candlestand was part of a Suburban Philadelphia estate.

The Auction only includes what is pictured, unless stated otherwise. Please view all pictures as they are part of the description and be sure to ask all questions prior to bidding. Thanks!
