What a fine piece of art glass. Herb A. Thomas is an artist in Pennsylvania. You can read about him here-- making the necessary adjustments into your search bar with the "dot com" part- at sugarloafcrafts dot com/thomas.html You will find a picture of him there at work on glass.This vase is 3 3/4" tall, has a fine iridescence, millefiori work, strung glass raised on the surface glass between each millefiori type flower, a rough pontil partially finished smooth, and a finely finished flared opening.Now I'm sure Herb would describe it differently himself, but I tried to point out his amazing work to the best of my ability.The pictures were taken with a flash which enhances the iridescence, however the green pops out just slightly more than it does in natural light in which it is a more subtle effect against the deep eggplant base color. I just added the very last picture, which is taken in natural light. The green still pops!Buy it soon because writing this makes me want to add it to my personal collection!
