Up for auction is this very rare and unusual Herend Hungary hand painted porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup saucer and dessert plate trio in the Vienna Rose pattern. The saucer has a raised reticulated center which holds the cup in place. This was a design used in the 18th century for chocolate cups. The dessert plate measures about 8 inches in diameter and has a leaf decoration throughout, a multicolored floral/rose center and green edged borders surrounding a raised basket weave outer circumference. The back of the plate has green leaves around the circumference and is marked, in blue, with the Herend shield mark, "HEREND HUNGARY HANDPAINTED 519/VRH" it is also impressed with the number "519". It is in very nice shape w/ no chips, cracks or crazing and just a little very, very minor wear to footing on underside of the plate, not visible from the top and probably made in the firing/making of the piece (this is extremely minor but wanted to mention for complete accuracy!). The saucer measures about 5 1/4 inches in diameter and has the aforementioned raised reticulated center, fully encased in green highlighting and perfectly fitted to the cup and handle.
