Herkimer Diamond Crystal Matrix Cluster, Museum Grade!

At Herki'Miners Place we don't just close a sale, we open a Friendship This Auction This Herkimer Diamond crystal Matrix cluster formation measures 6 1/2 inches long x 5 inches wide x 3 inches at it's highest. Formed on it is a cluster of six Herkimer's, the largest is just shy of 3 inches long, the next one is just over two inches, t are three more crystals embedded in the matrix and a tiny one attached to the two inch crystal. Matrix pieces are prized by any mineral collector but have usually broken free of the rock. To have a cluster with crystals this size, still attached to the Matrix... This is something that one rarely sees outside a museum, very rarely. The main crystal has a fracture plane extending part way though it with the balance of the crystal very clear for a three inch Herkimer. The two inch one is mostly water clear with some Inclusions , in both crystals, in places, you can see clear though to the Matrix. The other four gems are water clear and finely formed gems. Even if all the crystals were totally hazy and unclear, this matrix would be fantastic, with the formation and clarity of these crystals, Museum Grade!!! NOTE: Herkimer quartz and the limestone matrix are far apart in the way they react (expand or contract) to seasonal or sudden temperature changes. As the ages went by slight cracks in the rock let heat, cold, and moisture get to the matrix and crystals. This resulted in most matrix crystals breaking away from the limestone and in many cases fracturing apart the attached crystals in the process. The larger the attached Herkimer's were the less likely they would survive attached. Well, this listing is of very rare large crystals that were not destroyed and did survive attached too. This rare occurrence, and the completeness of the large Herkimer cluster, is why it's museum grade and why we doubt you will ever again see anything like this matrix collectors specimen offered again on eBay. Not at a price like this! The first two pictures show the overall specimen, the next picture shows the three smaller crystals. With the Matrix behind them in the picture, they do not show the water clear purity they have, our camera is good but the crystals are so much better. The next picture shows the largest crystal, with the fracture plane, and the two inch one, if you look closely you can see our background through it, with the clarity it has. The fifth picture is simply another angle of the formation but we noticed an oddity in the camera lens that made us add one last picture, a zoom in shot. We are offering this one from our private collection, the finest matrix we have offered, or seen offered, since we started selling on eBay over five years ago. NOTE: The pictures shown in all our auctions are photos of exactly what is being sold, not a "representative example", meaning you are going to get something that looks kinda like what you see. It's time consuming to take pictures of each listing, but when you are bidding on our Herkimer's we feel you should see the exact items that are being sold. They are known worldwide as many of them have a brilliant clarity not found elsew, this makes them highly prized by collectors, many of whom feel their collection is not complete without a few of these amazing gems. T are imitation or "Herkimer type" crystals found in other countries, mostly very flat or tabular. We have yet to see, in any of these other quartz crystals, the true form and beauty of real Herkimer county crystals. Man...
