Up for this auction is a funny lens – Hermagis Eidoscope150mm f4.5 SN 166059 with only front glass. Don’t worry about that. This famous soft focus lens is rapid rectilinear design, so you can use it with only one, front or rear glass. More details, you should go to this webstite: /softfocuslenses.html Scroll down to Eidoscope by Hermagis: “Note that this lens can also be used with just one lens group (2 elements), front or rear, just as most other rectilinear designs.” Due to losing one glass, it’s became 280mm f6 (approx – as my calculate).It’s mounted on an old Compur shutter. Speed 1/1, ½, 1/5 does not work. Another speed (1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/200) does work but all of them sound like one speed 1/200. T and B work well. Glass is clean and clear with only one tiny scratch which is about 2mm. You can see it in the picture. I’m sure that it does not affect to image quality. The last picture is an image taken with this lens. A soft image with smooth background. It requires a lens board with 49mm (1 4/5 in) hole, will be perfect for your 5x7 or 4x5.
