Offered for auction is a round top laminated segmented base dining/work table designed by the team of Charles and Ray Eames and manufactured by the Herman Miller Company. To give it maximum strength and stability, the Eames designed an innovative base that's securely affixed to the 1-inch thick table top. The top is covered in a premium formica in pure white. The edge is wrapped with a black vinyl rub strip. It sits on a standard Eames designed four star base mounted on a black umber pedestal and 1958 aluminum group legs with casters. In 1964 the Eames designed this table with a segmented base, constructed of modular units, that could support tops of different lengths and widths. Like all fine works of art, Eames tables endure through the decades. Works in dining or office areas, Eames tables can stand up to heavy use and still look good doing it.
